Ski touring in Hochsteiermark

If you go ski touring in Hochsteiermark, you can look forward to splendid views across the snow-covered green heart of Austria. With countless routes at Mürzer Oberland Nature Park, in the Hochschwab and Mariazellerland regions and around the Fischbach Alps, there’s something for every taste and skill level. You can find routes for beginners and more accomplished skiers there, with options ranging from long, easy routes to short and challenging ones.

Right on top: Experience mountain bliss!

The “Tagesklassiker” route in the Mürzer Oberland region takes you right up to Schneealm, where you enjoy amazing views across Hochsteiermark and up to the Dachstein. During ski tours in the Hochschwab area, you’re also rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views from the top of the high plateau. From Hochschwab summit at 2,277 metres above sea level, you can see all of Styria. Our tip: Make sure to catch the impressive sunset from the top of the mountain!

Most routes in the Hochschwab area are fairly challenging. Easier, more family-friendly options include the routes up to Heukuppe and Wetterin.
